This year, Salesforce has completely reimagined Dreamforce and brought it to everyone through content, videos, personalized meetings, a live-streamed keynote, and more. Salesforce has reimagined how to give back to the local community. During the “Dreamforce to You 2020” event,, Salesforce donated a total of $5 million to address the crises the communities are facing, including a $2 million fund to support local small businesses in San Francisco and $3 million to global nonprofit partners who are working tirelessly to address the converging crises.
Salesforce brought students and young adults together to experience the magic of Dreamforce with curated content and guest speakers. This year, Salesforce went global with a virtual event series that engaged thousands of young people in solving today's biggest challenges, achieving equity in education, and preparing for the jobs of the future.
On December 16th, Salesforce aired a special DreamTX edition of B-Well Together, where Jody Kohner interviewed global activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, asking questions submitted by students.
To prepare for this event, students from all over the world completed a learning activity. To kick off Computer Science Week, they attended virtual viewing parties where they got to reflect on their learnings and ask Malala questions about how to take action for equity in education. Young people are charting a new path, mobilizing their generation, and using their voice to build a brighter future through Music for Change. Over the past two months, high school students from around the world have been channeling their desire for social change into their own song by leveraging BandLab and Age of Makers, an online, gamified social impact and music production curriculum that teaches digital literacy skills to the next generation of change makers.
And in more to come, on December 18, at the first-ever Music for Change event five regional winners will showcase their original songs to a prestigious jury of music professionals as they compete for the ultimate prize: a fully-furnished music studio.
The panel of judges includes William, musician, entrepreneur & philanthropist; Jewel, singer-songwriter & mental health expert; and Dave Wish, CEO & Founder, Little Kids Rock. This group of musicians and innovators have used their music as a force for positive change. To watch these talented young musicians, please visit https://sfdc.co/mfc.
Year 2020 has cemented the importance of getting involved with causes you care about and supporting communities in need. It will take all of us working together to change the future.
